| Background information: | Mouse monoclonal anti-Beta tubulin, clone 1TUB-2A2 recognize human tubulin. Tubulin is the main component of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha-chain. Beta-tubulin forms a dimer with alpha tubulin and acts as a structural element of microtubules. Mutations in Beta-tubulin cause cortical dysplasia, brain malformations etc. |
