| Background: | Bim (Bcl2-interacting mediator) is a pro-apoptotic protein of BH3 domain-only subgroup of the Bcl2 family. It has important roles in initiation of apoptosis in response to many death stimuli. Bim is an important regulator of B and T cell negative selection and is also an essential regulator of T cell apoptosis during termination of an immune response. Bim is constitutively expressed in many cell types but it is maintained in an inactive form through binding to the microtubule-associated dynein motor complex._x000D_ |
