Description: Human recombinant PAG3 (Pepsinogen 3, group I) belongs to the peptidase A1 family. Pepsinogens are the inactive precursors of pepsin, the main acid protease located in the stomach. Pepsin is one of the major proteolytic enzymes secreted by the gastric mucosa. Pepsin is specifically useful in cleaving peptide bonds involving aromatic amino acids. Pepsin shows extremely broad specificity; Even though bonds involving phenylalanine and leucine are favored, a lot of others are also cleaved to some extent.
